Dear friends,
Let me thank you all for your active participation in the PES Progressive Convention.

The goal of the PES Progressive Convention was to formulate alternative proposals and to define
new progressive policies aiming at building fair and sustainable societies in the 21st century. All
together, and thanks to your contribution, we built a unique platform for all progressives to
address fundamental values, engage in constructive debates, exchange ideas and new proposals
and put our principles into action.
A rare combination of events, ranging from workshops, leaders plenaries, film screenings,
debates, photo exhibitions, literary cafés, Party branches stands, and excellent contributions from
all partners involved in the organisation led to the common success of the Convention with more
than 2000 people attending. A clear message could be heard from all participants, that a
progressive voice is truly needed in Europe.
The outcome of the discussions at the Convention will serve to pave the way for the PES
Fundamental programme, which will build a bridge between our values and concrete policy
proposals as well as inspire the PES Manifesto for the 2014 elections.
Thanks to you for your involvement, that made this event a big success. We are looking forward
to cooperating again in the future.
