Amnesty International
This December 7 will mark the first anniversary of the arrest of Majid Tavakkoli, a leader in theIranian student movement who may spend 8 years in prison simply for criticizing the government.

Come join the George Mason University Amnesty International group and the Abdorrahman Boroumand Foundation to demand the release of Majid, and to stand in solidarity with student activists fighting for human rights in Iran. A remarkable photo exhibit, short documentary, and the opportunity to hear directly from Iranian former student activists will give us a window into the many faces and dynamic voices of this movement. Stick around for food, including traditional Iranian snacks, and add your voice to Amnesty International's Global Write-a-Thon with letters of support for Majid and others.

When: Tuesday, December 7, 6:30-8:30pm
Where: Dewberry Hall North, George Mason University (Fairfax campus)

The photo exhibit will also be on display on George Mason's campus at Gallery 1-2-3 from Dec. 6-9, so please stop by and sign a postcard for Majid! Let me know if you have any questions or need directions, and I look forward to seeing you all there!
